About Us

Serving the needs of our clients has always been at the heart of faciliCAD’s development. The founders of faciliCAD worked in the facilities management industry since the late 1980s, first in large architectural firms, and later as independent consultants. They realized that clients tended to avoid large, Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems due to both complexity and cost. Mainstream solutions were cumbersome to install, difficult for staff to learn, and a significant financial investment.
In 2001, the original partners joined to create the simpler software solution their clients were looking for: faciliCAD v.1 was sold and installed for the first client in May of 2002. Originally developed for smaller companies, The next version was designed with flexibility for both large and small companies and added a non-graphic database entry component. At the same time, the software moved from its original Microsoft Access framework to an Enterprise Solution with Microsoft SQL as the database. This offered companies the ability to function in a network environment with multiple users.
As the faciliCAD client base grew, so did the requests for new features and design changes. Subsequent versions increased capabilities, added flexibility and new functional components. New development tools for the web led to the creation of the faciliCAD Web Manager, which allowed facility managers to share their faciliCAD drawings and data within their organizations via any web browser.
In 2021, the owners of faciliCAD partnered with Berners Schober Associates, Inc., an architectural, engineering and interior design firm, to form Spatial Innovations LLC. Our joined resources offer support for the space and people management that faciliCAD is known for, while broadening our scope to include associated building services. Our current client base ranges from small facilities managing 100,000 SF to Fortune 500 companies managing over 12,000,000 SF. Types of client facilities include office complexes, manufacturing, healthcare, education, R&D facilities, and government agencies. This new partnership ensures the viability and service commitment to faciliCAD clients into the future.

faciliCAD has been a member of the Autodesk Developer Network since 2001. The Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) was created for desktop software developers seeking proven tools and technologies to extend the functionality of existing Autodesk products and technologies. The ADN program helps developers access Autodesk’s expertise in design, engineering, and media and entertainment platform technologies.

nCircle Tech

Although faciliCAD was originally created in 2001, the code base was on its way to becoming obsolete.  In 2019 faciliCAD hired nCircle to create a complete rewrite of both the desktop and web software 
application. nCircle has a proven track record of providing technology consulting and advisory services for the AEC and manufacturing indiustry globe worldwide. nCircle fast became faciliCAD’s developer of choice.
